ATC Trainees

With the building of the Karbala International Airport by Copperchase Limited, there is a requirement for Air traffic controllers to ensure the safe and smooth landing and departures of aircraft at the airport. If you think that you have the right attitude and aptitude for this role, then Copperchase would like to talk to you about the potential to train as an Air Traffic Controller.

Whilst we are specifically looking for residents of Karbala, there are some legal, academic and medical criteria that you need to meet before you can become a Trainee Air Traffic Controller. In essence you will need to be able to satisfy the following: -

  • Academically, it is essential you are over 18, hold a Batchelor Degree and have good English Language Skills (spoken and written) and Maths.
  • A good level of physical and mental fitness is required; we may require you to undertake a basic medical examination where we will assess your eyesight, audio (hearing) and general physical condition.

Training will take place in Iraq with periods of time being spent in the UK where you will receive intensive, world-class tuition in Aerodrome/Approach Control. Teaching will include time spent in the classroom, at simulators and on actual airfields. It is anticipated that the training will last for approximately 2 years, depending upon aptitude and ability.

Software Analyst

Job Responsibilities

Analyse, design and document information systems to define requirements and prove the requirements are met.

Primary Job Duties

  • Interact with internal users and customers to learn and document requirements that are then used to produce requirements documents.
  • Write technical requirement specifications.
  • Provide cost estimates for system development timescales.
  • Write test verification plans used to verify the requirements have been met.
  • Interact with software developers to understand software limitations.
  • Help programmers during system development, e.g. provide use cases, flowcharts, UML and BPMN diagrams.
  • Write technical manuals.

Software Engineer

We have a vacancy for a Software Engineer at our Poole Office in the United Kingdom.

Job Responsibilities

Develop information systems by designing, developing, and installing software solutions.

Primary Job Duties

  • Execute full lifecycle software development.
  • Write well designed, testable, efficient code in accordance with defined coding standards.
  • Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility.
  • Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
  • Develop unit tests and software test plans.
  • Document and maintain software functionality.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert.
  • Comply with project plans and industry standards.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven work experience as a computer software engineer or software developer.
  • Hands on experience in designing interactive applications.
  • Ability to develop software in C# and VB.NET.
  • Excellent knowledge of relational databases including database design and SQL Server.
  • Mastery in software engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with software development methodology and release processes.
  • Ability to document requirements and specifications.
  • Recognised qualification in Computer Science or Engineering.

Desirable Experience

  • Visual Basic 3.0, Visual Basic 6.0.
  • Developing COM controls and code components/class libraries.
  • HTML and XML technologies including XSLT and XPath.
  • Test-driven development.
  • Developing installer packages using InstallShield.
  • Experience, knowledge or interest in Air Traffic Control Data Processing Systems.
